Even in Westcliffe, Dogs and Cats Can Get Heartworms

April is Heartworm Disease Awareness Month. Heartworms are one of the many problems we didn’t have to worry about up here a few years ago, but that has changed. And, it’s not just dogs. Cats can get heartworms too and they need a different type of medicine to prevent it. Please, visit the American Heartworm Society website to learn more about heartworm basics and heartworm prevention. It’s that time of year already!
